What is the Shop University mission? The ShopU is a 501(c)(3) located in Helena, Montana dedicated to improving the communication, career, and citizenship goals of English language learners through structured, intensive English classes.

When are the classes? Classes are currently held Monday through Thursdays from 10-12 and Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm. Other instruction times are available by appointment. Classes are held year round.

Who can come to class? All English levels and first languages are welcome. New students are accepted daily.

Where are you located? We are located inside the Shop Helena Coworking space in the basement of 614 N. Last Chance Gulch. Use the alley entrance and the classroom is the first door on the right as you enter the building.

How much does it cost? The Shop University is a donation-based classroom. That means you can pay the amount you can afford. The suggested donation is $80 per semester.

What classes are taught? All of the classes are taught by an accredited teacher focusing on the four skills of English (listening, speaking, reading, writing) as well as incorporating grammar and American culture. Students are encouraged to suggest topics they would like to study.

What does 501(c)(3) mean? The Shop University is a non-profit; this means that all funds raised through student donations and other wise are used to operate the classroom. We are committed to transparency and have received the Guidestar Platinum level seal.
