The Shop University is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization located in downtown Helena dedicated to providing English as a second language instruction to improve the communication, career, and citizenship goals of our community.

  1. When are the classes? Classes are currently held Monday through Thursdays from 10-12. Other instruction times available by appointment.
  2. Who can come to class? All levels and first languages are welcome. New students are accepted daily.
  3. How much does it cost? The Shop University is a donation based classroom. That means you can pay the amount you can afford. The suggested donation is $75 per semester.
  4. What classes are taught?All of the classes are taught by an accredited teacher focusing on the four skills of English (listening, speaking, reading, writing) as well as incorporating grammar and American culture. Students are encouraged to suggest topics they would like to study.
  5. What does 501(c)(3) mean? The Shop University is a non-profit this means that all funds raised through student donations and other wise are used to operate the classroom.
  6. How can I help? We are always looking for volunteers and donations. Contact us to sign up as a volunteer or donate through the site here. Your donations are tax deductible.

We are located in the basement. Come down the alley to park and enter the back door.
